We are establishing a statewide Palawa suicide prevention program as part of a national network of Aboriginal community-controlled organisations working towards a target of zero suicide in Aboriginal communities. The program will work closely with other suicide prevention programs and community institutions well-placed to identify risks.
The program will be led by a statewide coordinator with demonstrated skills and experience, supported by two aftercare regional workers. A part-time mental health first aid trainer will also be employed.
