Sea Country Workshops
Aboriginal community members are invited to a workshop to discuss creating a tayaritja/Bass Strait Sea Country Indigenous Protected Area (IPA).
What we’ll yarn about:
- How we will establish the sea country area
- What you value most about the sea country
- What your concerns are
- The health of tayaritja Sea Country
- Management options
- The lungtalanana/Clarke Island repatriation animal project
When they are:
- 12 to 5 pm, Monday, 14 November 2022, Training Room, Launceston TAC
- 12 to 5 pm, Tuesday, 15 November 2022, Community Room, TAC pataway/Burnie
- 10 am to 3 pm, Saturday, 3 December 2022, Lady Barron Community Hall, Flinders Island
The Australian Government has provided TAC with the funding for this tayaritja Sea Country project. This will support:
- community consultation
- developing a management plan
- creating a Sea Country Ranger Unit
