About the Role
The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) is seeking committed and respectful Community Support Workers (Aged Care) to support Aboriginal Elders through our Support at Home Program.
This role provides culturally safe, in‑home and community‑based support that promotes independence, wellbeing, cultural connection and quality of life, enabling Elders to remain safely and meaningfully connected to their homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver culturally safe, person‑centered support aligned with individual support plans
- Assist with personal care, mobility, domestic tasks and meal preparation
- Support Elders to access community, social, cultural and health activities
- Promote reablement, independence and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to safe service delivery
- Work respectfully with Elders, families, carers and the broader care team
About You
You are caring, reliable and respectful, with a genuine commitment to Aboriginal self‑determination and culturally safe practice.
Essential requirements include:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or willingness to work towards
- Experience in community aged care, disability or similar support roles
- Knowledge or lived experience supporting Aboriginal Elders
- Strong communication, time management and record‑keeping skills
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Driver’s licence and willingness to travel

- Salary range $61,000 – $77,000 pa pro rata + Salary Packaging
